Perten Instruments specializes in agri food quality control, with a wide-ranging portfolio of products designed to handle grain, flour, feed and food. The company offers a unique combination of products for compositional and functional analysis.
Diode array NIR analyzer
The versatile DA 7250 is a diode array NIR analyzer designed for analysis in the food and agri industries. It is fast, accurate and robust. The easy-to-use DA 7250 comes pre-calibrated for a wide range of applications, and determines moisture, protein, fat and many other parameters in all types of samples.
This third-generation system comes in two versions – one for general use and a stainless steel, sanitary design version, for use in the food industry.
Sanitary design at-line and lab NIR analyzer
The DA 7250 SD is ideal for applications where sanitary designs are required, such as labs and production areas, as its sanitary design limits the surfaces and crevices where food material could adhere. The instrument is simple to clean, further reducing opportunities for microbial growth.
In-line NIR analyzer
The DA 7300 SD is an advanced in-line NIR instrument designed for use in grain, flour, food and feed processing. Using its built-in digital colour camera, it performs continuous measurements of multiple parameters simultaneously, such as moisture, protein, fat/oil, ash and many others.
The DA 7300 SD is easily integrated into process control systems whereby the real-time measurement can be used for monitoring or automatic controls. Various mounting options are available, providing flexibility for use in many different types of processes.
On-line NIR analyzer
The DA 7400 is an advanced on-line NIR analyzer for over-the-belt type measurements. It performs real-time multi-constituent analysis of a product on a processing line, providing process control and quality monitoring information.
Continuous process monitoring helps users to increase efficiency and reduce scrap and re-work while improving product consistency and quality. This versatile instrument performs simultaneous measurement of parameters such as moisture, fat, sugars, protein, starch, fiber and many others.
Viscometers for measuring the performance of ingredients and finished products
The Rapid Visco Analyser can assist in product development, quality and process control and quality assurance. It is a cooking, stirring viscometer with ramped temperature and variable shear capability optimized for testing the viscous properties of starch, grain, flour and foods.
With as little as 2g-3g of sample, the RVA instrument can perform an analysis using international standard methods or your own tailor-made test routines of mixing, measuring, heating and cooling.
Bread volume measurement
In bread and other bakery products, a higher volume and aerated crumb is associated with superior quality and value. Using fast, automated laser topography as an alternative to time-consuming and unreliable seed displacement methods, the BVM maps height, length, width and volume, and produces a 3D rotatable product image. Product weight, specific volume and density can also be reported.
The easy-to-use BVM provides accurate analysis that is repeatable and applicable from one production site to the next. This robust instrument is ideal for millers, bakeries, food companies, food ingredient suppliers, food research institutes and test kitchens.
Texture analyzer
The evaluation of texture is often based on sensory evaluation and experience; however, for rapid and objective analysis the TVT 6700 texture analyzer is the ideal solution. More sensitive and reproducible than subjective sensory judgement, the TVT 6700 applies controlled conditions of stress or strain to food and other samples to measure a complete texture profile.
This user-friendly instrument accurately measures compressive and tensile force and position over time using standard test modes including single and multiple cycle compression, tensile strength, compress-and-hold, extend-and-hold, fracturability and springback to describe product texture. Data is captured as a graph and stored in a tabular database for analysis and export to spreadsheet programs.
The TVT 6700 texture analyzer is efficient and versatile, with rigs and probes to quantify the textural properties of a range of food products and materials.
Dough rheometer
The doughLAB is a flexible dough rheometer with conventional z-arm mixing action. It has programmable temperature and mixing energy to mimic commercial processes, evaluate finished dough performance, research the response of a dough to changing stress, evaluate ingredients and full formulations and perform standardized methods for water absorption and flour quality.
With doughLAB you can determine quality parameters such as dough mixing profile, development time, stability and softening of wheat, rye and durum doughs for milling, baking and food applications. The instrument enables you to test flour, wholemeal, semolina and formulations containing ingredients and improvers. It also allows you to create custom tests for bread, pizza crust, pastry, cookie, cracker, pasta and noodle doughs.
The doughLAB includes user-friendly Windows software with traceable calibration for millers, bakers and researchers.
